Good morning guys,

I have just a little thing which id like to figure out.
I want to set my default layers to wireCad.
What is the best way to do?

Is it the best to Rename the default signals and change the color?(not the easiest way, because it’s a lot of signal which i can not assign)

Or should I delete all and insert my own. (Also not was, because some of your signals doesn’t makes sense to me, so what is important and defently needed and if I delete the default library, what will happen with the equipment

Or should I use the On Layer function?(how will it work at upcoming projects? Do I need to add the layers everytime?

The plan is to have my my own default signals at every upcoming project. But I would like to use your equipment as well.

So is it possible and how?

Thx in advance and best regards.

Assuming that you don't want to start over with an empty database; the first thing you will want to do is to align the signal types in the Default Signal Types database to ones that make sense to you.
There is a Rename Signal Types tool that allows you to change the Signal Type in the grid and all matching IO in the database.
The Project Signal Types database inherits from the Default Signal Types database. It is built as you go or you can run a tool to get all the defaults.

I hope this helps.
Let me know if you need further clarification.

ok...ist much more difficult. So if I use the "Rename Tool" it happens nothing at the database. so I just restarted the program to see if something happen. But nothing. So I restarted the Laptop and now I see that it wasn´t renamed. 2 Rows where added. Thats strange. And now, the Rename tool is no more working. I do receive Errors anytime

and really strange is that I cannot reset the database. so as long as I Delete all rows...all came back really quick. I tried both, just refresh or delete and click rebuild from IO.
Rebuild from IO gives me more lines as before. That Plugin is adding 2 empty layers at every try. U can see it in the attachment.
And what I do not understand is, why is the Plugin "rebuild Signals" rebuild some signals which where not used anywhere. Makes no sense to me.

OK. Confirmed. The Rename Tools is not giving feedback and not behaving properly. We will get it fixed.

Yes great, Looks better so far. but there is still a small issue.
Clicking "Rebuild Signal Types from IO" will still create 2 Empty Layers. While These Layers exist in the Signal Type Library it is not possible to rename Signals. So it is needed to delete These 2 empty layers, than save and than ist possible to rename.
