This may be a settings problem on my part. In V7, as I typed a cable number in the assign box, the drop down would automatically filter. It made it easy to find unused numbers when assigning out of sequence. WC8 does not seem to allow this and the drop down does not seem to filter correctly at all. The drop down appears to only give me cables that have been marked as deleted and are available.

This is as designed. We had so many issues related to the auto filter control in that context that we had to remove it.
